O Nata Lux

After a search for a setting of the “O Nata Lux” text that would be accessible for a volunteer ad hoc church choir yielded no suitable results, this setting brought itself into being to fill the perceived void. Simple yet profound, the intuitive melody lines and underlying chord structure give clear homage to Morten Lauridsen’s setting of this text that we would have been happy to sing had the choir been up to the challenge. An optional chant-style incipit provides a reverent and atmospheric introduction if the time and space permit.
