Douglas Byler (b. 1988) is a composer and real estate entrepreneur from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, and a Master of Music degree from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ.

Douglas’s music has been commissioned, performed and recorded by many choirs across the United States. “Prelude and Gloria,” an 8-minute work for wind ensemble, was one of the winners of the James Madison University New Music For Wind Ensemble Competition, and was premiered by the JMU Symphonic Band in April of 2017. “Paris in Spring,” for SATB choir and piano won second place in The Choral Project of San Jose’s Student Composer Competition and was premiered by the group and artistic director Daniel Hughes in June of 2016.

Currently, Douglas resides near Harrisonburg, Virginia and splits his vocational time between music and real estate.
